Khalisha Casey
Co-Founder, President
she/her
Khalisha Casey grew up in Omaha, NE and has lived in Lincoln for about 16 years. Having grown up without heteronormative gender roles and being able to explore her own sexuality and identity was a privilege she is only starting to recognize fully. Using that privilege to raise up others and create safe spaces for all is very important to her. With memories of counter-protesting the WBC back in early high school, to being present for the recent legislative challenges, she has long been passionate about standing up for equality, equity, and liberation for all people. Having been called “aggressive,” she now considers this a good thing and is quite proud of that label. She is honored to be able to give something back to the LGBTQIA+ community and to honor her friend, Milo, while doing so. She and her partner live with their three cats, many fish, and a soon-to-arrive new human. You can probably find Khalisha gardening; working on the wardrobe; playing with the kitties; making someone, somewhere, mad at any given time; or doing one of millions of new ADHD-inspired hobbies (currently it’s brewing mead and dandelion wine).
